Congratulations Oxnard on the Liberty Torah!
November 05, 2007 Yesterday Chabad of Oxnard completed the writing of a very special Torah which they purchased from us. It was written in honor of the members of the US armed forces past and present. The writing of the Torah was begun in a public ceremony in Oxnard several months back. A scribe in Israel spent most of a year writing the rest of the scroll. He only left out the last few letters. We then had the scroll shipped back to Oxnard where the last few letters were written in another public ceremony yesterday. I haven't researched it, but I feel safe saying that this is probably the first Torah scroll which has ever been completed in Oxnard. I am very proud to have been a part of it.
