Check this out. Back in 2012, we started making short video clips for many of our mezuzahs. The goal was simple: to help customers get a better feel for each mezuzah case before choosing one for their home.
Photos are helpful, but a short video can show the shape, texture, shine, size, and overall presence of a mezuzah in a different way. That matters when you are choosing something meaningful for a doorway, especially when the case will hold a kosher mezuzah scroll and become part of the daily rhythm of a Jewish home.
At the time, we hoped to add videos to many more product pages over the next few weeks. One of the first products we highlighted was the Spring Blossoms Mezuzah, a colorful pewter mezuzah case that is still available today.
Some of the other early video products are no longer available, but the same idea still matters. Seeing a mezuzah case from more angles can make it easier to choose the right style, size, and finish for your doorway. You can browse similar options in our pewter mezuzahs, sterling silver mezuzahs, and full collection of mezuzah cases.
Looking back, this was an early step toward making the online shopping experience more helpful. A mezuzah is personal. Some customers want something simple and traditional, while others are looking for something artistic, colorful, modern, or giftable. Seeing the product more clearly helps make that choice easier.
If you are browsing today, pair your favorite case with a kosher mezuzah scroll so it is ready for the mitzvah. The case is what you see on the doorway, but the scroll inside, handwritten on klaf (קְלָף, parchment) by a qualified sofer STaM (סוֹפֵר סת״ם, Jewish scribe), is the heart of the mitzvah.
We would love to know what you think. Do product videos make it easier for you to choose the right mezuzah?
