Blue enamel and silver pewter give the Hoshen Blue mezuzah case a rich, symbolic look inspired by the High Priest’s breastplate. As a mezuzah cover, it feels traditional, meaningful, and beautifully detailed, with enough presence for a front entry, hallway, study, or office doorway.

The Hoshen (חֹשֶׁן, breastplate) was worn by the Kohen Gadol, the High Priest, and was set with stones representing the Twelve Tribes of Israel. That connection gives this mezuzah holder a story of Jewish unity, sacred service, and tradition. For shoppers looking for meaningful Judaica from Israel, it fits naturally with our Israeli mezuzah cases.

Made in Israel from pewter and hand painted with enamel, this version has a larger profile and a blue-and-white palette that feels classic and bright. Customers comparing traditional symbolic designs will appreciate how it brings the Hoshen theme into a practical doorway piece.

Hoshen Blue Mezuzah Scroll Guidance

This mezuzah case is designed to hold either a 4-inch or 5-inch kosher mezuzah scroll. The Hoshen design gives the case its beauty and symbolism, but the mitzvah (מִצְוָה, commandment) depends on the kosher klaf (קְלָף, parchment) inside.

If you choose No Scroll, we will ship your mezuzah case without a scroll inside. Choose this option if you already have a kosher scroll that fits this case.

If you need a scroll as well, you can choose the Basic Kosher Scroll or the larger Superior Kosher Scroll. If you choose one of these options, we can ship your mezuzah with the scroll carefully rolled and inserted inside the case.

When this mezuzah is shipped with a scroll already inserted, we seal the back with double-sided tape to help create an airtight seal, making the case usable on exterior doorways when properly sealed. Customers comparing parchment choices can browse our kosher mezuzah parchment.

For more background on the handwritten parchment, our guide to the mezuzah scroll explains what gives the scroll its kosher and halachic meaning.

Hoshen Blue Pewter Mezuzah Design

The breastplate symbolism and blue enamel make this piece a strong fit for shoppers browsing blue mezuzah designs with deeper Jewish meaning.

  • Hoshen inspiration: Based on the High Priest’s breastplate and the Twelve Tribes of Israel
  • Blue enamel detail: Adds color, brightness, and a traditional Israeli Judaica look
  • Pewter body: Silver-toned and substantial without feeling overly ornate
  • Made in Israel: A fitting origin for a Beit HaMikdash-inspired design
  • Large profile: A strong choice for visible doorways, offices, studies, and entry spaces

Its symbolic story also makes this piece a good match for mezuzah gifts. Customers comparing meaningful mezuzot will find a strong blend of color, tradition, and sacred Jewish imagery in this Hoshen mezuzah case.

Certified Kosher Mezuzah Scrolls

Scrolls for Mezuzahs

The scroll is the heart and soul of the mezuzah, so it is essential that it be 100% certified kosher. Our Mezuzah scrolls are carefully handwritten on genuine calfskin parchment by certified Torah scribes, known as Sofrim.

After being examined with specialized computer software to detect scribal errors, every scroll is personally reviewed by our in-house Sofer to ensure that it meets the strict halachic standards of a 100% kosher mezuzah scroll.
