How to Use these Silver Mezuzah Screws

1. Confirm that your mezuzah case has screw holes that fit the included screws.
2. Insert the kosher mezuzah scroll (קְלָף מְזוּזָה, parchment scroll) into the case before final mounting, if the case loads from the back.
3. Seal the back of the case using the backing that comes with your mezuzah, or use suitable double-sided mezuzah tape when appropriate.
4. Hold the mezuzah case on the right side of the doorway as you enter the room or home, following proper mezuzah placement according to halacha (הֲלָכָה, Jewish law).
5. Position the case slightly slanted when following common Ashkenazi custom, or follow your family minhag (מִנְהָג, custom) for placement.
6. If needed, create small pilot holes that are appropriate for the doorpost material.
7. Install the top screw first, align the case, then fasten the bottom screw.
8. Check that the mezuzah case is secure, firm, and not loose or swinging.

A firm mount matters because the case protects the kosher mezuzah scroll inside. The case is the cover, but the Mezuzah klaf (קְלָף, parchment) is what makes the mezuzah part of the mitzvah (מִצְוָה, commandment).
