I expected it to be a cylinder to protect Torah. Due to the fact that it open on the back. I am not sure it is worthy for something as valuable as the word of God.

Thanks for your review! Most Mezuzahs have no back. The back serves no purpose once the Mezuzah is affixed to the door. Simply secure the scroll with a piece of scotch tape and affix. If you ordered the mezuzah with the scroll, we will ship it all ready to affix.
