How to Use Black Mezuzah Nails

1. Make sure the mezuzah case is designed with nail holes.
2. Prepare the case and insert the kosher mezuzah scroll (קְלָף מְזוּזָה, parchment scroll) before mounting, if the scroll is inserted from the back.
3. Seal the back of the case using the original backing or suitable mezuzah mounting tape when appropriate to help protect the klaf (קְלָף, parchment).
4. Place the case on the right side of the doorway as you enter, following proper mezuzah placement according to halacha (הֲלָכָה, Jewish law).
5. Angle the case slightly when following common Ashkenazi custom, or follow the placement custom used in your home or community.
6. Tap in the top nail first while keeping the case aligned.
7. Secure the bottom nail and check that the case is firmly attached.
