How to Use Gold Mezuzah Nails

1. Check that your mezuzah case has top and bottom nail holes.
2. Place the kosher mezuzah scroll (קְלָף מְזוּזָה, parchment scroll) inside the mezuzah case before mounting, when the case requires back insertion.
3. Seal the back of the case using the backing that comes with the mezuzah, or use suitable strong mezuzah mounting tape when appropriate.
4. Hold the case on the right side of the doorway as you enter the room or home, following the correct placement for that doorway.
5. Set the case slightly slanted when following common Ashkenazi placement, or follow your family minhag (מִנְהָג, custom).
6. Secure the top nail first so the case can be aligned correctly.
7. Fasten the bottom nail and confirm that the case sits firmly against the doorpost.
