Large Double-Sided Strong Mezuzah Mounting Tape | 5-Inch Product Details

Every spec, one glance.

Water rating
Waterproof

Five inches is where coverage starts to matter. This strong double-sided mezuzah tape sits at the longer end of our mezuzah tape range, and as adhesive tape for mezuzah mounting it puts contact along more of the case than a short strip, which only holds the middle.

It suits many medium mezuzahs with a flat back. Some large mezuzah cases work too, but only when weight and backing shape allow it. Length alone does not make a heavy case safe to tape.

A mitzvah (מִצְוָה, commandment) rests on the klaf for mezuzah (קְלָף, parchment) inside rather than the case around it, but the cover still has to sit firm against the doorpost.

Flat copper mezuzahs take the bond cleanly when the back is even. Hidden mezuzah adhesive keeps the front of the case uninterrupted.

5-Inch Double-Sided Mezuzah Mounting Tape Specifications

  • Product Type: Strong double-sided mezuzah tape
  • Dimensions: 5 inches (12.7 cm) long by 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) wide
  • Mounting Method: Self-stick, no-drill mezuzah mounting
  • Trim-to-Fit: Shortens with scissors for a concealed fit
  • Best For: Compatible medium and mid-size mezuzah case styles with flat backing
  • Coverage: Longer contact area along the back of the case
  • Surface Prep: Smooth, clean, dry, stable doorposts
  • Doorway Use: Indoor and protected exterior doorways when case and surface suit

The point of five inches is contact, not size. A longer bond keeps the ends of a taller case from working loose, where a short strip fails first.

How to Install a Mezuzah with 5-Inch Mounting Tape

  1. Confirm the case has a flat, sealed back made for adhesive mounting.
  2. Insert a correctly sized mezuzah scrolls first if the case loads from the back.
  3. Match the scroll to the interior of the case, not to the tape length.
  4. Lay the strip on the flat area, clear of the scroll opening, screw mechanism, and curved edges.
  5. Clean the doorpost and let it dry completely.
  6. Our mezuzah placement guide covers side, height, and angle.
  7. Set the case slanted inward for Ashkenazi custom, or upright per your family minhag (מִנְהָג, custom).
  8. Peel the liner, press along the full strip, then check no section lifts.

Choosing a Mezuzah Case, Kosher Klaf, and Mounting Method

Weight is the honest limit. Case weight, backing shape, material, surface texture, doorpost condition, and weather exposure decide whether tape suits, and more adhesive overrules none of them. Our guide to double-sided tape for a mezuzah explains where the line falls. A case with mounting holes should go up on mezuzah screws.

Outside, weather does more damage than weight. Make sure the mezuzah cases for outdoors you picked suit a covered entry. Our mezuzah accessories cover the rest.

Other Double-Sided Mezuzah Tape Sizes

Case backings vary more than people expect, so the tape comes in four lengths.

Use the tape length that gives the mezuzah case enough adhesive coverage without leaving tape visible around the edges.

How It Works

1. Mark the Spot

Hold your mezuzah case on the doorpost, upper third of the doorway, and mark the top and bottom.

2. Attach the Hardware

Drive the nails, set the screws, or press the mounting tape firmly at your marks.

3. Mount and Bless

Secure the case tilted inward toward the room, firmly fixed and never loose, then say the blessing.
